Hello xrz100! Very nice R/C Elco! Great CONS 4 that! Boat goes very similar to Balrog's model but I'got a little question. During first circle everything was excellent but during the second one - bow got down and took a lot of water aboard. It seems like caused by a problem with bow steadiness/stability or maybe a bit of water got inside the boat? ...Or maybe it's just my private optical hallucination ;)

Boat takes water?
No, your observation is correct. The root cause for this was that I put the outside engines on the right stick and the middle engine on the left stick of my remote control. This was the first time I used that engine split and I was unused to this when driving. Thus I let loose sometimes the right stick - which caused the boat to put the bow in the water.
Another reason is that I put the loadspeaker and sounbodul in the bow of the boat, which made the model a little unbalanced.
In todal a nice model but the hull is very heavy and therefore does not allow that much room for special options.
With 3 engines and batteries my model runs a little below CWL. the german boat will be different due to size and weight.
Kind regards

BTW: what are you currently building?

Before I started to build my ORP Piorun I also thought about to split engines control to both throttles (the reason was ability to maneuvre only by engines - just like on real ship) but later I decided to not complicate to much my first R/C model and I quit this idea.
What about free space in such small hull - you got absolutely right. In Balrog solution there were also problems with correct CWL. Without batteris his model looks perfectly but to ride she need to put batteries and bow gets down I think this is a common problem of all this scale R/C elco's.
Compare to Elco - schnellboot is like a four star Dubai Hotel with a swimming pool, sauna and others ...Special options ;) ha ha! ;)

Polish Fast Patrol Boat (FPB) - ORP Piorun (422) -> the second one of Orkan class. She is a polish version of DDR Sassnitz class FPBs project 151 (Hulls were made in Wolgast) modernized to carry swedish RBS-15 Mark 2 missiles (soon Mark 3) with a dutch-french combat management system Tacticos.

Balrog,
I have seen you think about to make the torpedos work. On Johns PT Boat page is a good description of how he made his torpedos operaional even with 2 counterotating propellers. However, please keep in mind John is building 1:20, thus he has far more space than we have:
http://www.pt-boat.com/torpedo/torpedo.html
Further, the user Knikebein (user in youtube) has made all 5 torpedotubes of his German Sub VII Version operational. He has used cicar tubes for the hull of the torpedos......
Kind regards
Christian
